Tuesday, February 27 – Join NAMI Next Gen at 8 p.m. for “NextGen@Work: Making Mental Health Benefits Work for You.” The session will feature an insightful conversation with NAMI’s Workplace Mental Health Director, Meg Delp, NAMI NexGen graduate Alex Ang, and The Hartford’s Clinical Manager, Anabel Cloutier-Perez, discussing all things mental health benefits. Wednesday, February 28 –  Join New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies for “The Bridge: Maximize Recovery by Enhancing Peer-Provider Relationships” a creative and interactive workshop which will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The Bridge model supports a strength-based approach within a safe container that encourages authentic sharing aligned with one’s personal values. Practicing deep empathetic listening helps to rebalance the power dynamic between individuals. Register Here

Wednesday, February 28 – Join NAMI for “Soulful Conversations: Navigating the Intersection of Faith, Spirituality and Mental Health,” which will be held virtually from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. This conversation will highlight the ways in which faith and spirituality intertwine with mental health and the role of spirituality in fostering resilience and guiding individuals in connecting with support and on their recovery journey. Thursday, February 28 – Join IFSS of Bergen County and NAMI Greater Bergen for an educational workshop on: “Medications Used to Treat Mental Health Conditions,” which will be held virtually at 7 p.m. Presenter Kristan Louis, APN is prepared to answer questions from families about commonly prescribed psychotropic medications. Monday, March 4 – NAMI Middlesex County in collaboration with Intensive Family Support Services of Middlesex County (IFSS) is hosting a Winter Speaker Series, “Mindfulness and Meditation,” which will be held virtually via Zoom from 5:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. This program aims to teach the basics and benefits of mindfulness and meditation practices, as well as dispel some misunderstandings about mindfulness. This presentation includes the opportunity to engage in a relaxing group mindfulness meditation and guided imagery exercise with discussion afterwards. Register here | Download flyer

Thursday, March 7 – NAMI Ask the Expert Presents: “A Fireside Chat with Dr. Marlene Freeman and Dr. Ken Duckworth
Psychiatric Medications and Considerations for Individuals Across Pregnancy, the Postpartum, and Reproductive Years,” which will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Dr. Marlene Freeman and Dr. Ken Duckworth, will be answering audience questions related to: Maternal mental health, The impact of psychiatric medications throughout reproductive years and more! Tuesday, March 12 – Brain & Behavior Research Foundation presents a Meet the Scientists Webinar on “Detection of Suicide-Related Emergencies Among Children Using Real-World Clinical Data,” which will be held at 2 p.m. This webinar highlights new and innovative research applying computational methods, such as machine learning, to medical record datasets to advance the accuracy and equity of detecting children experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
