Department of Health Budget Listening Session
ANNOUNCEMENT: Stakeholders and Public Invited to Share Input on FY20 NJ Department of Health Budget
The New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) will host a budget listening session on Thursday, January 10, 2019. The session will take place from 10am to 1pm in the auditorium on the first floor of the Health & Agriculture Building. The building is located at 369 South Warren Street in Trenton, NJ.
In person or written testimony are encouraged. If you and/or your organization have suggestions and/or input about the DOH budget and/or its programs, this is an opportunity to have your voice heard.
The capacity of the auditorium is 90 people and attendance at the session is on a first come, first heard basis.
Testimony will be limited to 3 minutes per person. Due to time constraints, only 1 representative of an agency or group will be allowed to testify.
DOH has a budget of approximately $2 billion and operates five branches: Public Health Services, Health Systems, Integrated Health, Office of Population Health and the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning. These branches work collaboratively to ensure a healthy New Jersey by:
Promoting prevention, wellness and equity in all environments,
Improving the quality of health care through oversight efforts, such as the licensure and inspection of various health care facilities,
Increasing efficiency, coordination and integration of the State’s mental health and addiction prevention and treatment programs with the delivery of primary health care, and
Overseeing traditional public health programs and services, such as WIC Nutrition Services, community-based HIV, STD and Tuberculosis prevention and treatment, and emergency preparedness and responses
