NAMI Middlesex Young Adult Club (YAC)

​YAC is on a mission to make friends. We are a recreational group in Middlesex County for anyone over 18 with an emotional or behavioral challenge. Every time we get together, we find a bite to eat and something to do like a walk in the park, bowling, or just hanging out at the mall.  We meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays most months, depending on holidays and inclement weather!

If you are not already a member, we would like to encourage you to become a Member. Here are some of the programs NAMI Middlesex offers its members:

– Casual Outing group for people 35 and older to socialize
– Young Adult Club for those age 18 to 35 to get together for conversation and social events
– Coping Group to support family and friends of those with mental health challenges
– Family to Family education course for family and friends of people facing mental health challenges
– Monthly webinars in cooperation with Intensive Family Support Services (IFSS) on topics of interest
– Two free special events each year – a winter holiday party and a spring picnic.

In addition, NAMI NJ offers many specialty support groups, including SAMHAJ, AACT-NOW, CAMHOP-NJ, NAMI NJ en Español, Families of Loved Ones in State Hospitals, Siblings Support Group, Spouse/Partner Support Group, LGBTQ+ Support Group, and Asylees/Refugees Support Group. When you join, you become a member of your NAMI Affiliate, NAMI NJ and the national NAMI organization. You will receive NAMI’s magazine, the Advocate, as well as NAMI’s monthly e-newsletter.
