Supportive Housing in Middlesex: What Families Need to Know

This presentation will provide information about Supportive Housing programs in Middlesex County at Bridgeway and UBHC. Bridgeway’s Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST) is an intensive residential support program designed to address the needs of individuals who may require intensive but varying degrees of residential support in the transition from hospital to community living. UBHC’s Community Support Services program provides case management and skill development to adults in the community. Presenters will review admission criteria, specific services provided, and the referral process for their programs.

Person-Centered Life Planning: Who Will Care for My Loved One When I Am Gone?

The purpose of this workshop is to educate families who have a loved one with a significant disability about the importance of planning for the individual’s future support. Planned Lifetime Assistance Network of NJ (PLAN/NJ) will guide families in this legal and estate planning and life-long support process. This session will address future planning issues such as independent living supports, estate planning, legal and financial protections. Topics include how to implement a future life plan for people with disabilities, Guardianship and Supported Decision Making, Special Needs Trusts, and ABLE accounts.

NAMI Basics is a free, 6-session education program for parents and other family members who provide care for youth (age 22 or younger). Learn more about the course
Casual Outing Club:
The Casual Outing Club is a program that provides social gatherings for adults who are interested in recreational and social activities. The events take place the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at The Reform Church, Highland Park.

Young Adult Club:
Our Young Adult Club provides recreational opportunities and fellowship. The events are generally held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoon of every month in Middlesex County, and range from bowling, to mini-golf, movies and picnics in the park.
